I have been the Manager at the Hanging Gate for over 16 years and I loved it so much I bought the company! Who couldn’t love it? It’s a gorgeous pub in a beautiful location, I have a fantastic team and every day I realise how lucky I am to be pursuing my dreams!

Manageress - Angie Thomas
Angie has been the Manageress here for almost 15 years and is responsible for the day to day running of the Gate. She has been the friendly face you all see on arrival and has been by my side right from the start. She is my rock.

Patricia Nolan
Pat is a hard working and faithful member of staff, having been with us for almost 15 years she is one of our longest serving employees. Pat works in the kitchen and is one of the chefs that create our home cooked dishes for you to enjoy.

Stuart Walker
Stuart worked at the Hanging Gate when he was just finishing college, he left us to gain experience in a variety of kitchens and now he’s back and we are really happy about it! He is a great chef and his sense of humour can get us through even the most stressful of shifts!

Stuart Wood
Stuart started his career here as a pot washer and five years later he has just gained his NVQ level 2 and 3 in Hospitality and Catering. Well Done Stu!  Stuart enjoys working in any area of the business and even doubles as our resident D.J!

Samantha Carr
Sammi has been with us for over two years now and also enjoys working in all areas of the Gate though is mostly found in the sweets and starters department preparing heavenly desserts for your enjoyment.

Danielle Shore
Danni has also been climbing the ladder here. Danielle started as a member of our waiting on team before she left school and now, five years later, is a permanent member of staff in our sweets and starters kitchen and is in training for the bar and front of house roles.

Keely Oldham
Keely has been with us for four years and her lovely nature and people skills make her a hit with all our diners. Keely is currently excelling in her ‘meet and greet’ role.

Lisa Pearson
Lisa is one of our best all rounders. Having been employed with us for 5 years, she is as flexible as can be, enabling her to ‘jump in’ on any department as and when needs must and often needs do indeed must!

Lee Street
Aka ‘Amos’ because of his broad Yorkshire accent! Lee has been with us for over a year and is currently learning bar skills as he has just celebrated his 18th birthday. (He won't forget that night in a hurry!!)

Tracy Buxton
Tracy is part time and after having a baby last year, works two days a week, which fits in well with family life.

Elyse Thomas
Elyse is our most gorgeous girl! She is 10 years old and has the vital role at the Hanging Gate as our colouring competition co-ordinator. She also helps Daddy in the office.
